About Vicky

Meet Vicky

Welcome, to the home of Vicky Adin...

the award-winning historical fiction novelist whose writing style has been compared with Catherine Cookson

Vicky is an avid genealogist in love with history. Her stories are inspired by the true life stories of 19th century immigrants to New Zealand and their descendants. With themes of family, loyalty, courage and tenacity, she writes about people and their passions, and weaves family life and history together with love, laughter, and tears.

Her 2020 release, Portrait of a Man, is the new, stand-alone, soul-searching  saga following the characters from the The Cornish Knot, available now.

The Costumier's Gift released in 2019, is the heart-warming dual-timeline story of Jane, following the family sagas of Brigid The Girl from County Clare and Gwenna The Welsh Confectioner

With seven books completed (and another in progress) in what she calls The New Zealand Immigrant Collection of suspenseful historical family sagas, there are options to choose from:
Two books are set entirely in the  past
Two are dual-timeline stories switching from the present to the past.
Two are contemporary stories visiting the past through diaries and letters, One is set across three times lines bringing a genealogical story to a conclusion. You can read more about each book here.
