A writer’s life varies from day to day. The ups and downs can be exhausting but then there are days, like today, when an email bring so much joy. I am honoured and delighted to announce Gwenna The Welsh Confectioner has won a GOLD medal in the Women’s Historical Fiction Category for The Coffee Pot Book Club Book of the Year Awards 2022.

My thanks go to Mary Anne Yarde and her team at The Coffee Pot Book Club for all their hard work and I extend my congratulations to all the other category winners. Please take a look at all the other Book of the Year 2022 winners. You are sure to find a fabulous read amongst them.
Gwenna has been an award winner since her first release having gathered a Indie B.R.A.G. Medallion, a Chill with a Book Readers’ Award (alongside her counterpart Brigid The Girl from County Clare) and a BGS Gold Standard Quality Mark in addition to this latest award. GOLD. The cover designs have changed along the way as I’ve released new books but the content has remained the same. I hope you have (or will) enjoy her story.
Against overwhelming odds, can she save her legacy?
Gwenna’s life is about to change. Her father is dead, and the family confectionery business on the brink of collapse. Thwarted by society, the plucky sweet maker refuses to accept defeat.
She promised her father she would fulfil his dreams and save her legacy. But thanks to her overbearing stepbrother, that legacy is at risk. Gwenna must fight for her rights if she is to keep her vow.
Gwenna The Welsh Confectioner

Praise for Gwenna The Welsh Confectioner:
Utter brilliance I was captivated from beginning to end. Vicky really brings the characters to life and you can really engage with what it must of been like to be a young girl like Gwenna going into business at the turn of the century in a male dominated society. I was totally engaged with every character each one contributing to make this a truly wonderful story, my only disappointment was when it ended.
