Where Stories Lie Buried – A Memoir of a Genealogist Turned Author

Coming September/October 2026

Behind every family tree is a story. Behind every story is a voice that brought it to light.

Part memoir, part craft narrative, part family history, Where Stories Lie Buried reflects one writer’s progress from a young amateur genealogist to an entrenched enthusiast who became an author to fulfil the need to bring the past to life.

The book explores the hows and whys of her journey. How life events changed her path, and why she felt motivated to write about what she’d found. The way family connection became ingrained, why individuals inspired her, and what she learnt along the way. How writing became a passion she hadn’t expected, and research became something she could not stop doing.

What she loves most is probing into the lives of people of the past — women especially. The deeper she searched, the more inspired and passionate she became. That constant desire to write, to share a story, to make sure it is never lost — that is what drives her, and ultimately why this book was written.
For genealogists, emerging writers, and readers who have ever wondered what lies buried in their own family’s past.
